About Misprint

A collective of "Maine" artists who want to share their art and the humanity that comes with making it.

This is the first draft of a website for Misprint Publications, a homemade publishing and distribution group for artist friends. Between us, we offer publication of zines, prints, crafts, and other kinds of art as individuals. We also offer magazines and ramblings on a quarterly basis as a whole. You can find us tabling at events, hosting community events and workshops, and being humans together. It can be anxiety inducing to make art, especially if you plan on showing that art to others, but we're here to make it feel just a little easier to create, share, and connect. We're looking for joy in what feels like a dark world. You probably are, too.Let's be friends!

Find Us Elsewhere

We are not a jealous people - all of our artists thrive outside of this group. Find the Artist's individual information here! For now, find us as a collective here:

PSEUDO LOCAL

Pseudo Local is a poet and organizer that talks often about reality(/realities), lamenting and cherishing the fact that he can’t talk to his past or future selves like he’d want to, and the human experience. His work (art and otherwise) often rely heavily on their formatting and process – how you create is just as important as the creation itself. He’s a long-term lover of paradoxes and thought-trees – Tracking decisions and dominoes that fall to make life play out exactly as it is. All the ways life could’ve played out slightly differently, to somewhat differently, to extremely differently are things he likes to explore and experience. As a Brown man from a city, there's pros and cons to living rural in his late teenage to early adult years. One pro is finding community. One con is the struggle of finding it with people that look like him. One pro-con is losing and finding religion. One con-pro is living an entirely different life than he first thought. There's a lot more and also nothing else to say. So, to fill some space, here's a recent poem of his:

To Take Down and Put UpThere is an inherit art in the
making,
absence,
and destruction
of art.
The process makes the art
And the process IS art.
The destruction of art, though ending its first life,
ensures it’ll never truly die.
